DAR objectives are Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism

Education: DAR supports several schools for disadvantaged or disabled young people. Our chapter proudly lends financial support to this effort. We also support education and youth by contributing to the many scholarships offered by the National Society. We are supporting education locally as well as remotely. We have Literacy Promotion projects and we support the Community Classroom Committee. In addition, our chapter offers a variety of scholarships. Contact us for details on our chapter scholarships.

Patriotism: We join Daughters around the world in support of our military, both active and veteran status. Our members join in volunteer activities at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas participation in the annual Wreaths Across America event, hosting a bingo night, and donating items for use by the patients all year long. We also take time to visit the veterans while volunteering.

Historic Preservation: The DAR has many historic preservation projects, including the restoration of its headquarters in Washington, D.C. Every chapter seeks to provide financial support and opportunities to better our communities. Among our chapter's projects was to preserve and place a marker at the original stone wall of Fort Leavenworth. Visit our History page for details.
